My name is Staci Guthrie. I am the wife of Eric Guthrie, Director of Missions here at Heart of God Ministries. I love to travel and photograph people and places along the way. On this blog, I'll share life at HGM with you. Welcome!
MY OTHER BLOG: CLICK ON THE PICTURE BELOW TO GO FOR A VISIT!
I also have another blog where I write about faith, hope, cookin' meatloaf in a crockpot (wonder of all wonders - it works!), travelin' overseas and all kinds of things over there. When you have time, take a look.
THE SHAPING OF THINGS TO COME by Alan Hirsch & Michael Frost
Eric's "favorites" list is looooong - but he finally decided on this read to recommend.
SIMPLE OBSESSION by Jamie Zumwalt
Ok - So this is John's MOST favorite book. Ever.
PASSION FOR THE HEART OF GOD BY JOHN WILLIS ZUMWALT
And this is Jamie's favorite book... it's cute, isn't it.
The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning
God loves you furiously - without boundaries, limits or breaking points. It's my favorite of Brennan's.
A NEW KIND OF CHRISTIANITY by Brian D. McLaren
One of John's favorites.
How I Learned to MEDITATE by Malcolm Smith
This is Tom's favorite book. It's out of print and a wee bit hard to find.
The Final Quest - By Rick Joyner
Katie couldn't decide but finally chose this one when forced. She could think of several.
The PIONEER WOMAN COOKS BY REE DRUMMOND
This is Maia'a favorite book! And yes, it's a cookbook but it's also full of stories from down on the farm. Maia grew up on a ranch so this book is right down her little alley! Ree is a talented writer who spins a good tale but she's also a good cook. So this is both a cookbook and a story!
LORD OF THE FLIES by William Golding
Grant's pick. His favorite will always be the one he's readin' at the moment and...this is it!
A BROWN PUPPY AND A FALLING STAR
I can't help it...the ending is, well, precious. And it was my favorite book when I was little too.
Eric's Fav
He recorded it on the dvr and now we've watched it like countless times. And not a day goes by that it's not quoted. "These are my recreational clothes. My robes...they were stinky."
MY MOST FAVORITE ALL TIME MOVIE
I love autumn and I love the rain. This movie has both. AND good music.
JOHN'S FAVORITE FLICK
Yes, he's made me watch it with him.
MAIA's Favs
The Borne Trilogy - she just loves'em all!
TOM's FAV
I've heard this movie's music floatin' outta his house. It's a fav at our house too.
RIKKI'S PICK
I love Alan Rikckmans voice, don't you? And when he comes into the house at the end...well...well you just have to watch it! Sniff, sniff... It's sooooo gooood!
GRANT'S PICK
He has so many that he really couldn't choose...so I chose for'im. This one is on our dvr as well. Oh, and I like Ken Watanabe a lot too.
THE CLASSIC
This movie was filmed in Korea and is only available with subtitles. It's one of my favs but takes a bit of a commitment to watch. You have to read subtitles for three hours! But oh so worth it!
LOST
Mother of Pearl! My most favorite show in all my 29 years! It even beat out Northern Exposure. Most staffers have immersed themselves on the island and watched all six seasons as well. I mention it becuase it was made in movie format.
awesome!
